Xp Keeps Hanging

Filed under: Computers and Technology by Secret

If your Windows XP machine keeps hanging, with the sinister “hourglass” that we have become all too familiar with, then it may be time to give your PC a tune-up.

Giving your PC a tune-up is a lot like giving your car a tune-up. In order for both to run smoothly and to live a long and useful life, both need to undergo periodic maintenance. Both require a thorough inspection of all of the critical systems that keep both running. Both require some minor maintenance to keep their respective engines running clean and operating efficiently.

If you wait too long to give either one a tune-up, both will eventually wear out and break down. The useful life of each will diminish significantly. In automobile terms, this could mean that your car will eventually start staling and more things will start to break down, and your gas mileage will worsen. In terms of your PC, this means that your computer will have a tendency to crash, to hang, and to slow down. If you click on something with your mouse, it may not respond as quickly as you would want it to. Or your computer might freeze up unexpectedly for several seconds or minutes at a time.

The Windows registry is your computer’s master database. It stores all of the information about everything your computer needs to know about, in order to run: hardware, software, user accounts, security, and more. If this database ever gets corrupted or unoptimized, then subsequent search operations against the database can actually be extremely slow. It is these unoptimized, inefficient searches against the Windows registry database that are a major contributing factor to the slow response in your system.

Therefore, it is highly recommended that you optimize your Windows registry periodically. Doing so will drastically boost the performance and speed of your PC.

Run a FREE scan of your Windows registry and experience your computer as if it were brand new all over again!
